Establishing Your Niche and Research on Keywords

You would have heard many times over the importance of identifying your passion or interest, your talents or skills that you might have acquired from working in your job for a few years or more, and others. This is identified as your Niche.

You then has to come up with some keywords connected with your Niche, so that you can build your Content for your web-site, blogs, forums, etc.

From the list of Keywords or key phrases, you might think that this is good enough, or is it???

You fall prey to the Deadly Mistake of new Internet Marketers (IM). You believe your know best.

Many will tell you, that you are NOT. So stop kidding yourself. Test and Measure all things that goes into your sites, so that you know for sure, it yield (or not) the results that you are looking for.

You want to know what other variations to the keywords that you have selected for your Niche. And perhaps they are better.

What do I mean by Better? It simply means, that the keywords are used by a lot of people in Search Engines And if your web-site or Blog is build with contents based on your keywords and your sites are Search Engines Optimized. Then you might be able to reach the top of the listing in Search Engines of that keyword. And that you can get some targeted traffic (or visitors) to your site, without paying a cent. How do you like it?

I’m sure you do.

Therefore, you have to research on your selected keywords, with the appropriate strategies, so as to ensure that they are what other Internet users are searching for (high number of searches on Search Engines), less competitions.

1-word keywords sound great, but usually users don’t find what they are search, so the users may eventual use 2 to 5 work keywords in their searches before finding the information or sites. Therefore, it is important to consider these longer keywords and even commonly misspelled keywords (words), due to the position of keys on the keyboard.

Some people have this problem, but they know what they are searching for.

There are manual ways to conduct this research, as well as using Software or web-site to conduct this research.

All I can say is Act on it, do it today, and optimized your web-site with the appropriate keywords from your research, and make minor changes to monitor improvement to your site.

After camping out at Singapore Expo Hall 2 for 04 days, the World Internet Mega Summit (WIS) 2007 finally comes to an end on 29 May 2007.

Heaps of information, tips, and so on, on how to be successful in Making Money on the Internet.

You can be wanting to do this, if you are in business and looking for new ways to optimize and provide better leverage. 

You may be working for someone right now, but not getting the fulfilment (not just money-wise) of job satisfaction, being rewarded appropriately, having to work long hours (even on weekends and/or public holidays), not even have the time to take your leaves or day-off to be with family and friends or go for a trip to unwind and relax.

You may be having a good job, and still have time on your hands.

Or you may not be working right now, either by “choice” or ”against your will”. A more straight forward way to say this is either “you fire your boss” or “your boss fire you”.

You may be looking to find ways wanting to make more money, whether out of necessity, or wanting to be able change your lifestyle for the better. As Stephen Pierce said (and other speakers too) that we want to make more money, not because that we want the MONEY (the dollar notes), but really what the Money can do for us.

Example, getting a new car, go for a holiday, give good gifts to our family and friends that we can’t afford previously.

We must have the heart to give to others when we start to be able to make money, and to share our new found wealth and knowledge with others who are in need, would be the greatest joy and satisfaction we can derived.

 For those who think that once you start to achieve your 4-figures sales, then 5-figures, then 6-figures, etc.. and that we will feel on top of the world and that it’s, all our problems would be solved, and we’ll be happy, and satisfied.  How very wrong we are, to think in that way. As the “joy” would be temporary, and there would have to be more. So either you are going to be obsessed with many more money, getting more unscrupulous in the process, or we need to set our goals and start listing down the items we want to do, when we get there. 

 Start with the End in mind - from Stephen Covey’s book, provide us with a goal, the end-points clearly so that we don’t loss sight in the process.

Success will be ours, if we are persistent and do not give up.

Yes, once we have our vision, can we now focus on the technical (or operational) aspect of how to achieve our goals one da at a time, and to achieve sub-goals,, and then achieving our final goals and overall goals.

For those waiting for the 2nd Day report on this great event. It has indeed been a long BUT very fruitful day. Speakers gave us more illustrations, step-by-step process, marketing strategies, and how the Expert and Gurus themselves uses every day in getting product, traffics, affiliates, sales, delivery and payment, and much much more on this 2nd Day of this great event.

Met some old friends from our Primary & Secondary friends at this summit, and when out for dinner, catch up on old times, and talked about what we have received these 2 days. Proceeded to show them what I’ve done so far with starting my internet online business. I tried to practice what a few of speakers spoken about. Tried to learn and understand Internet Marketing and Setting Up an Online business, with the intend to teach someone to someone else.

Fantastic session, but this is also why I’m late in putting up this report.

RE: Marketing & Internet Marketing (Part 1)

With all the hype about making easy money on the internet, working 2 hours a week, wearing pyjamas, waking up late everyday, etc…  Forget about this.

I would tell you that, it is much more than all the easy money you heard about.

I can tell you now, that I’ve done much more serious reading, much more intense, trying to suck in everything, differentiate between what’s current and outdated, what’s going to work, and what ain’t. 

It’s not easy at all to find out who’s the Expert or the authoritative persons on this topic.

Search Engines can be “Cruel” and you (ie. your web-site url) might suffers, with pagerank and listing plumeting for making one wrong move…… and you might not even find out what it was that you did.

You must have heard this before, it is not enough that you get a web-site started. Hey there you’ll say, my great looking web-site is here……www.mygreatwebsite.com   (dummy site).

Traffic, especially Targeted Traffic, that you don’t have to pay a cent (as in PPC - pay per clicks) that will bring to your web-site potential customers.

Important Rule : Don’t do ”cosmetic” to your keywords, contents and web-site, for the sake of getting lots of traffic, at the least efforts.

What I mean is not to overdo Search Engine Optimization (SEO), just for the sake of getting a lot of traffic.

CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT is the key to having a great web-site, that your visitors would enjoy visiting your site or blog, and would like to visit again, and again, and again….. 

Having really great Products, Services, Offers - Unique Selling Proposition  (U.S.P.)  on your site, is to achieve a high Conversion Rate - high conversion of visitors to your web-site to become Customers.

There are a lot of technique, about about Up-Selling, Cross-Selling, and now Down-Selling, your products and selling.

It works well for some people, some products, some services, some countries/region, and even at different time of the year. You have to MONITOR your marketing efforts using different Marketing Strategies. And as long as it continues to bring you the Sales results, don’t stop.  Don’t change it (like they say, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it).

But for those advertisments or packages offered, that are not bringing in the desired results, don’t throw it out yet. Tweak it. Monitor. Tweak it. Monitor.  See the results climbs or fall. Learn from these results. These are IMPORTANT LESSONS to be learnt.

For some bloggers, results improve, by changing colour of Adsense Advertisement. For others, changing the format, size, Text Ads to Posters Ads, etc.

For Companies, by repackaging their products, putting in additional Photos or even additional information (like Testimonies from some public figures or celebrities).

You must have enough Patience and Entrepreneur Spirit in you, to ensure that you are able to face up to a long road to success.

Remember - Even if are able to achieve early successes, bear in mind not to let your head swell too big, too quickly. Be humble, continue to explore the various options, and Test & Research what are the different marketing Strategies that works or won’t work. Success TODAY, doesn’t guarantee Sucess TOMORROW. Be on your toe, ready to move on, and explore new ways to attract your visitors, repackage or redesign your products or services as many out there will follow or model against you what are successful, and you will find a lot of similar or related web-sites offering the same as your site, and at even better pricings or offers. Your “loyal customers” will start to move on to them for a slight changes in prices.

Continual Innovation, Creative thinking, brainstorming, thinking out of the box, offering things that are not offered by others, will keep you ahead of your this race. Is it going to be Easy? Definitely NOT. But is it impossible? Definitely NOT too.

-   Is everyone suited to start a Home Based Internet Money Making Business? If not, who are likely to succeed?
-   I ain’t cut out in Sales & Marketing? Can I still succeed?
-   Do I need a lot of money to invest in this internet business? What is the bear minimun capital I need?
-   I don’t have any product to sell, what else can I sell?
-   It’s too hard, and I don’t know if it’s for true or not, about people making lots of money on the internet.
